This just in... Perspicacity becomes The Other Place. The newly formed The Other Place Theatre Cooperative, or T.O.P. Theatre Coop, of Moscow, Idaho, has been accepted to perform at this year's Victoria Fringe Festival (Aug 26-Sept 6) in Victoria, British Columbia.
Remember when I wrote a few months ago about staging Camus' The Stranger? Well, now we're doing it, but this time we're taking it to the fringe!
The show is a highly theatrical telling of one of Camus' most famous works about a man who simply wouldn't cry at his mother's funeral.
I have the privilege of directing the show adapted for the stage by Nick Green. The cast features UI MFA candidate Michel Moisant as Meursault and recent UI MFA grads Britt Heisel and Alicia Bickley playing the remaining 19 characters!
For more information about the Victoria Fringe Festival, check out their link and watch Perspicacity for updates. We're planning on a home town opening run in late May with possible shows bleeding over into July before taking it to Victoria in August.
