Throughout the past few months, I've been working to devise an original performance piece for high school audiences with actor-playwright-director Alicia Bickley. The play is "loosely based on an idea somewhat inspired by Herman Hesse's Siddhartha." Our finished script, Sydney, previewed last night to a packed audience at the UI Arena Theatre.
It’s always so much fun to be able to sit back for the first time and watch an audience interact with something you’ve created. The play was received very well, and the powers that be decided that Sydney will premier as one of three plays in repertory this summer during Idaho Repertory Theatre’s inaugral season for youth (IRT-Y). In addition to directing Sydney, I'll also be directing Pain*t, Kolby Wood's show for children about prejudice and acceptance. It's going to be one full summer!
Look for a copy of Sydney to be posted on this website soon.
